Being a participant in quite a few groups I have become aware of an inner tension between the need to belong and the need to express myself freely.

I recognize, especially through my work, that this personal experience is part of a thread deeply woven into the fabric of humanity. We all share memories from the past and feeling the tension between belonging and conforming to a family, group, tribe or society and living out our unique self-expression. This tension is connected to a deep survival instinct obvious in our families as little children, but also deeply remembered in tribal communities where we had to rely on the group for survival.

When does a group become to stifling and restrictive for individuals to express themselves? When is a group becoming to chaotic or unstable when there are no agreed structures? When is it healthy and safe to challenge the rules to contribute to the growth of a group? When is it time to leave a group so we can live our lives more fully in line of who we are?

This has been a strong theme running through my life having left my family more than three decades ago to live on the other side of the world. It perhaps is the reason why I feel so strongly moved to facilitate Family Constellation Groups which focuses very much on integrating all parts of a system. The right to belong cannot be taken away. Anything excluded will remain and creates a sense of separation, on this planet and in our own minds.
This is the challenge we encounter on our journey to become whole. That does not mean we accept bad behaviors or abuse but it means that we fully accept someone’s fate as it is and embrace our right and responsibility to live ours.
It requires the courage of clear boundaries and the courage to acknowledge all the parts of humanity as a reflection of a whole which I am part of.

The often very challenging part in Family/Systems Constellations is that the perpetrators must be included in the system for healing to happen. This became particularly evident in Germany as many constellations were centered on healing holocaust survivors. I found this an incredibly profound experience to witness. It leads us to see and find compassion for the most horrible crimes. Not to accept such crimes, but to acknowledge the difficult fate and heavy consequences those people carry and to see the trans-generational link in their lineage.
I believe that such a deep understanding can change the world, stepping beyond separation and moving towards an honest, inclusive and more compassionate outlook.

Family constellation meets Astrology

I am excited to share with you a collaborative workshop which will combine Family Constellation with the wisdom of Astrology.
Astrology has been a life long passion of mine and I am delighted to co-facilitate alongside Tina who has been a professional Astrologer for 20yrs.

In this series of 3 everyone will get a chance to look and experience the dynamics and blueprints we are born with. Your Astrology chart reflects your family system and can be explored in the same way with representatives in an experiential way. This brings awareness to your purpose and healing in this life.
Awareness always opens to new ways of seeing and changes how we respond to whats emerging. The behaviors and tendencies are not the essence of who we are but we can embrace it all with more clarity, love and compassion.
Join Tina and Claudia in this playful, insightful, healing and heartfelt exploration in a non-judgmental supportive group environment.

I envisage this angel of peace to reach as many people as possible in this challenging time. Let there be peace and love amongst all beings.

I deeply appreciated each person who participated in my groups this year. It has been an honour to hold space as we deepen into this work together, trusting the field to unravel in its own way and timing. It can not be planned or pushed to a certain outcome, but always brings insights and understanding to existing dynamics igniting a movement within. Above all the love and support is a deeply felt experience as we represent parts of each others live.

Healing Circle and Family Constellation

Our hearts and souls, humanity and mother earth, are in urgent need of healing circles, especially now as we face a crisis of survival on this planet. Indigenous people have a long history of holding healing and grieving circles as they understand the importance of receiving support from the community rather than having to be with these strong feelings in isolation.
What always touches me deeply is that Family Constellation groups offer not only individuals processing their own issues, but the experience that we all contribute to support each other in our healing.
The Soul doesn’t need to analyze a situation but requires a deep acceptance of the facts of how things were and are. To truly find this acceptance and be with the associated feelings, is deeply healing and freeing.
Like most spiritual practices, its simple but often not easy, but deepens as we learn to trust the flow of life.
It is our journey from the mind to the heart.

Creative Arts Group

Reflect, Create and Connect

Come and spend a day to touch base with yourself through creativity and group support. Many people I talk to have been conditioned to think they are not creative or skilled enough to be so. These believes often date back to our childhood where we had negative messages given to us in this regard. Some of us have buried that creative spark somewhere deep inside since then. Most of us long to rediscover this part in some shape or form.

Here the good news! Absolutely no artistic skills are needed. You don’t need skills to be creative! Skills come to you naturally as you engage and find enjoyment in the process

What you do need is a curious open mind and a little courage and persistence to learn to move past the inner critic to free up your creative flow.

I offer a nonjudgmental environment where we can practice the art of creating with non-attachment to outcomes and the use of mistakes as spring boards to new discoveries.

The focus is on the process of creativity and self discovery and not on the end result.

The day will start with mindful grounding and followed by diving into your playful, creative process, prompted by loosening up exercises. We will include moments of reflections, which then will take you deeper into yourself and your painting process.

(Please note: This is not a therapy group but the process can bring up issues. So you do need to be in a stable life situation and have enough support to manage what may surface through these groups).

Saturdays 9:30am- 3:30pm. 

Cost: $95/ Cons. $85

Drawing Paper and glue’s, magazines, scissors provided. Bring your own acrylic paints and brushes (and special paper if you like).

Family Constellation Groups

This work is based on the recognition that we all are part of a bigger field or force connecting us to each other and to our ancestors. It is also based on the recognition that there is an order in the system of where you belong and the responsibilities which come with that place.

Family Constellation work explores the systems we live in and the impact they have on our lives. It brings awareness to relational entanglements in intimate relationships, family, work place and to related health issues. This process supports experiential integration of unacknowledged parts of our systems and within ourselves which can lead to long lasting positive effects.

Family or Systems Constellation is not limited to explore family Systems but can be used to explore any life situation we like to find more clarity, integration and possible resolution.

Through directly experiencing the field energy in the group we learn to trust that all movement is essentially a movement towards healing and integration and that the power of intent, love, trust and curiosity is what supports this movement.

Pottery Classes on Request

Come and join me to play with clay for a day. Together in a small group we will explore simple hand-building and surface decoration techniques using colored slips. This is an easy and fun way to open your creativity and achieve very beautiful results. I have an extensive collection of stamps and stencils to explore the endless possibilities this simple process offers. You will make 2-3 small to medium size bowls or plates to take home and treasure. Successful results guaranteed. :-)

Studio is now fully air conditioned for a comfortable creative experience !

For ceramic students who learned the basics and can work independently.

Facilitator Claudia Gyr :

Claudia completed a 3 ½ yr potters apprenticeship in Switzerland in 1979 learning all facets of making a living from pottery.

She has been teaching pottery in Switzerland at an adult education school for 4 years before immigrating to Australia in 1988.

In 1992 she opened her own pottery studio with adjoining art gallery in the Channon where she made a living as a potter and gallery owner for 8 yrs.

After the sale of the gallery Claudia studied and then worked as an Art Therapist and only recently through one of her clients found her way back to clay.

Now still working as a part time art therapist and without the pressures of having to make a living from clay she enjoys sharing her knowledge with others in a relaxed and supportive environment.
