Creative Arts Counselling with Children

Using creative means for expression is a really essential skill when working with children who often don’t find the words to express their feelings and emotions.

Below is some information about a great couple of training days up at the Sunshine coast on the 22. and 23. of November facilitated by one of my leturers when I studied Art Thearpy. If you are interested in learning more about Sandplay and the use of creative tools when counselling children, check out the link below.

    Hi Claudia,

I am writing out of interest in art therapy as I have recently moved to the area and have trained in Art Therapy at the Phoenix Institute of Melbourne. I didn’t manage to finish the diploma as I fell pregnant with my son, but I love art therapy so much and I am trying to stretch my imagination in thinking of ways I can still work with the community without a qualification. I wondered if you had the time to recommend something for me or if you yourself ever take people as assistants? Thanks for your time,

    Catherine
